We are asking our church family to take each Wednesday in Lent to fast and pray for our church family, and those that are going through difficult times.  A number of our own are in a time of grieving and healing.

We also offer this calendar to help you pray your way through the Lent Season.
(1) Wed. – Focus: CHILDREN
“Permit the children to come to Me, do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Mark 10:14-15). Pray for the protection, blessing, and the salvation of our children. Ask the Lord to call out, from the next generation, multitudes empowered to take the gospel to every nation.
(2) Thurs. – Focus: EDUCATORS
“…everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher” (Luke 6:40) Pray for all educators – for their protection, and that they will demonstrate and impart Christian values to their students. Ask the Lord for revival in our schools, colleges, and universities, and that He be established there in power.
(3) Fri.  – Focus: MARRIAGES
“Let marriage be held in honor among all…” (Hebrews 13:4). Pray for God’s healing touch upon the marriages of our nation. Ask Him to re-establish biblical foundations of commitment, and empower spouses through the Holy Spirit, to love one another as Christ does (Eph. 5:21-33).
(4) Sat. – Focus: PASTORS
“Shepherd the flock of God among you…casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you” (I Peter 5:2,7). Ask God to give pastors and church leaders wisdom and courage, and pray for their personal/family protection against the flaming arrows of the enemy. Ask God to raise up a vast new generation of pastors committed to Christ and His Word.
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for…all who are in authority…that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (I Timothy 2:1-2). Pray that our government leaders will become spokesmen for God’s absolute truths, examples of righteousness to our society, that they will experience God’s wisdom in their deliberations, and that they will be obedient to his direction.
(6) Mon. – Focus: THE POOR
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? …let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth: (I John 3:17,18). Ask the Lord to give you His eyes and heart for the poor. Petition Him to pour out a spirit if generosity upon our nation, government , businesses and churches. Pray for the spiritual and physical needs of the poor to be met: that they would be established in God’s blessing.
(7) Tues. – Focus: HEALTH CARE WORKERS
“How blessed is he who considers the helpless. The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble…and he shall be called blessed upon the earth…” (Psalms 41:1-2). Pray that God will raise up and equip those who serve others with loving hearts and gentle hands, blessing them for their service to others.
(8) Wed. – Focus: MOTHERS
“Strength and dignity are her clothing. And she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue…Her children rise up and bless her, her husband also…” (Proverbs 31:25-26,28). Intercede specifically for the mothers you know, then for the mothers in your neighborhood that their example to their children will be one of Christ-like obedience. Pray for their strength, joy and provision.
“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. And all the families of the nations will worship before You” (Psalms 22:27). Pray that the diverse communities of your area will be touched by God’s love; that Christians will lead the way in showing honor and acting in Christ’s reconciling power.
“Then they cried out the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their hands apart” (Psalms 107:13-16). Pray that God will break down the enslaving networks which promote alcoholism, drug addiction, and the addiction to pornography. Pray for miraculous release for those hopelessly caught in these demonic webs.
(11) Sat. – Focus: THE ELDERLY
“Now Abraham was old, advanced in age; the LORD had blessed Abraham in every way” (Genesis 24:1). Pray that God’s strength, peace and joyful contentment would be poured out upon our seniors, empowering them to serve and share wisdom with the younger generation. Pray for their physical provision and protection.
(12) Sun. – Focus: BROKEN FAMILIES
“The LORD…supports the fatherless and the widow” (Psalms 146:8-9). Pray that Christ will heal what the enemy has done to divide and to tear our families apart. Ask Him to release blessings on the children of broken families, that they will see and hear the gospel, and experience miraculous reconciliation.
“In all their affliction He was afflicted…in His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, and He lifted them and carried them” (Isaiah 63:9). Ask for healings of body, soul, and spirit. Bless those who are disabled with faith to see God at work in their circumstances. Empower them to serve Him effectively.
(14)Tues.  – Focus: GANGS
“I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them: (Psalms 34:4-8). Intercede for gang members who suffer from hopelessness, revenge and fear. Ask god to penetrate and transform the gang culture with His hope, power and Fatherly love through the eternal message of Jesus Christ who died for sinners to end the cycle of revenge.
(15) Wed.  – Focus: FATHERS
“And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). Pray that fathers will be stirred and enabled to provide godly leadership for their households and to take responsibility for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of their wife and children.
(16) Thur. – Focus: NATIVE AMERICANS
“May the peoples praise you, O God; may all the peoples praise you” (Psalms 67:3). Ask God to heal the pains which have been inflicted upon Native Americans. Ask Him to reconcile our peoples and release them from spiritual strongholds so they may all come to know Christ and experience His saving grace!
“Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; and that we may be delivered from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith” (1Thesssalonians 3:1-2). Pray that Christian ministries will remain founded on God’s truth, anointed by God’s power, and funded by God’s people as they work to extend God’s Kingdom. Pray for ongoing revival, anointing and obedience among those who lead these ministries in order to liberate the Holy Spirit to accomplish His purposes.
“How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times: (Psalms 106:3). Thank God for those who uphold the law and protect our citizenry. Ask for His blessing, courage, and protection to rest upon them and their families. Petition heaven for an end to brutality and corruption throughout our land.
“Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the alien who is in your town, on order that they may hear and learn and fear the LORD your god…” (Deuteronomy 31:12). Ask god to mightily use this nation to reach for Christ those who visit here and who do not yet know Him. Pray that multitudes would be saved and return to their homelands as missionaries of the gospel of Christ.
(20) Mon. – Focus BUSINESS PEOPLE
“But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth.” (Deuteronomy 8:18). Pray that God will use the lives of each business-person in America to further the Kingdom of God on the earth. Entreat the Lord to prompt Christians in business to acts of generosity and lives of integrity. Pray for renewed awareness that it is God alone who enables.
(21) Tues.  – Focus: THE MEDIA
“Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Keep straight the path of your feet, and all your ways will be sure” (Proverbs 4:24-26). Pray that the men and women who bear the high responsibility of reporting the news will do so truthfully and without personal bias. Pray for a return to biblical truth and righteousness throughout this industry.
(22) Wed.  – Focus: UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE
“…every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor – it is the gift of God” (Ecclesiastes 3:13). Pray for those in your neighborhood who have lost their jobs or who are struggling to find one. Ask God to increase their faith in His goodness, to meet their needs, and to provide them with meaningful employment.
(23) Thur. – Focus: FAMILIES
.”…in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 28:14)”. Pray for solid, Christ-centered relationships among family members, and for the divine restoration of the family to its God-designed position in society.
(24) Fri.  – Focus: DEPRESSED PEOPLE
“But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us…” (2 Corinthians 7:6). Pray for those who are downcast or depressed that they will find the joy of the Lord through God’s healing presence and deliverance. Pray for their protection from the evil one.
(25) Sat.  – Focus: MEN
“Thus says the LORD, ‘Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD” (Jeremiah 9:23-24). Pray that men will seek God and honor Him in every area of their lives, as the Holy Spirit brings them to conviction, confession and a new desire to be holy.
“For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall…that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace” (Ephesians 2:14-16). Ask Jesus to raise up anointed men and women who will be bridge-builders and peacemakers in every neighborhood and community. Ask how you might lead the way in repentance, reconciliation, and restoration. Pray for loving, lasting relationships among races in your area and throughout this nation. Pray for the establishment of Christ-centered, biblical churches in every people group and community in this nation.
“Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? …But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise…It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption” (I Corinthians 1:20,27,30). Pray that students will open their hearts and minds to Christ, and will be challenged to follow Him with lives of purity and integrity. Ask that they will carefully weigh what they are taught according to the wisdom that can only come from God.
(28) Tues. – Focus: THE UNBORN
“For He will deliver the needy when he cries for help…He will rescue their life from oppression and violence; and their blood will be precious in his sight…” (Ps 72:120-14). Ask the Lord to protect unborn babies from the ravages of abortion by turning their mother’s heart toward them, and by raising up the church to champion the cause and the care of babies and pregnant mothers, and by bringing to an end the holocaust of the unborn.
(29) Wed.  – Focus: THE MILITARY
“And when He had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, entreating Him… Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, ‘Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel’”(Matthew 8:5-13). Ask the Lord of Hosts to bless those who serve our country and keep them safe. Cry out to the Lord for a spiritual revival and harvest in America’s military community.
(30) Thurs. – Focus: SINGLE PEOPLE
“One who is unmarried is concerned about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord” (I Corinthians 7:32). Pray that America’s singles will be satisfied with God, seeking to live lives of sexual purity, moral integrity and service to others.
(31) Fri.  – Focus: THE SICK
“He saw a great multitude and felt compassion for them, and healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14). Pray for God’s comfort and healing touch to be evident in the lives of those beset with illness and disease. Pray particularly for any people you know who are sick.
(32) Sat. – Focus: WOMEN
“Then Jesus answered and said to her, ‘O, woman, your faith is great, be it done for you as you wish’” (Matthew 15:28). Ask the Lord to bring honor to women and protect them from social injustice. Ask that they will stand in righteousness before Him, receive His peace, and know His unfailing love for them.
(33) Sun. – Focus: YOUTH
“Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants, and our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace…How blessed are the people whose God is the LORD” (Psalms 144:12,15). Intercede for America’s youth. Ask the Lord to protect them from evil, and to open their hearts to know and experience the transforming truth of the gospel.
“The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God, let your heart revive. For the LORD hears the needy, and does not despise His who are prisoners” (Palms 69:32-33). Pray that God will reach into the lives and families of men and women who are in our correctional facilities and use the circumstances they are in to reach them for Christ (2Corinthians 5:17).
(35) Tues. – Focus: ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). Pray that God will strategically position men and women in the arts and entertainment industries to restore moral integrity and help reset the nation’s moral compass. Ask Him to stop the corruptive influences of the arts and entertainment industry.
(36) Wed. – Focus: THE HOMELESS
“But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction and makes his families like a flock” (Psalms 107:41). Ask Christ to restore hope, where there is none and to revive the hearts of the homeless with faith for the future. Ask Him to provide their daily bread, shelter, and other necessities.
“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Pray that your friends and coworkers will see the reality of Jesus in your life and that He will give you divine appointments to share the gospel with them. Ask the Lord to reveal to you how you can serve them.
(38) Fri.  – Focus: YOUR NEIGHBORS
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Galatians 5:143). Pray today for God’s peace to be upon those who live near you and in your city. Ask Him to provide opportunities to share the love of Christ in practical ways and for wisdom to speak.
(39) Sat.  – Focus: YOUR FAMILY
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). Pray for your family members today, especially those who do not know the Lord or are not walking with Him. Ask God to use your family throughout future generations to bless others and build His Kingdom.
(40) Sun. – Focus: CHURCH UNITY
“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou has sent me” (John 17:21). Ask God to heal the divisions in His Church and that the world will see the corporate Body of Christ loves one another and that this will cause them to believe! Pray for an outpouring of His Spirit.
“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought” (I Corinthians 1:10). Ask God to bless the ministry of other churches in your community that your neighbors might find the Lord.
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for…all who are in authority…that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity” (I Timothy 2:1-2). Pray that God would direct the hearts of your community leaders as they make decisions. Pray for unity in purpose and clear mission – especially for the schools in your city.
“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood (Acts 20:28). Ask the Lord to bless your church services with His Spirit and that He would move in the hearts of the worshippers that they would know Jesus. Pray for your music pastor and the worship ministry asking God to bless and lead them as they lead the church in worship.
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it”.( Proverbs 22:6) Ask God to send the right people to love and lead these tender hearts in learning about Him.
“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith” (Hebrews 13:7). Pray that they would be encouraged in their work, that they would receive a fresh call from God to serve Him in your church. Ask God to bless and protect them in their ministry. (Then send a note of encouragement to them.)
“He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.” (Micah 5:4). The soldiers on the front lines are the ones who receive the strongest attacks. Pray for the person your church has called to lead that God’s voice would be heard and His message clear. Pray for protection for the whole family.
