POSITION DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS FREQUENCY
CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRY TEAM
Nursery Team More than just “baby holders,” this team cares for all the needs of the youngest at our church. In the midst of changing diapers, holding bottles, playing, and comforting crying children, these folks have the opportunity to minister to both baby and parent. Competency, consistency, and loving care!  Help parents feel confident in leaving their children in the nursery. 1-2 Times Per Month on Sundays during first or second service
3-5 Yr. Storyteller Storytellers use their creativity to share an engaging Bible story, encourage child participation, lead a song, and drive home the bottom line each week.  We are dedicated to developing the skills of all our storytellers (teaching Bible story, leading game and song, and interacting with kids in large group setting). Prior experience recommended but not necessary. 2-4 Times Per Month on Sundays during first or second service
3-5 Yr. Storyteller Assistant Assist the storyteller in interacting with the kids, playing, encouraging, instructing and helping kids learn about Jesus! Loving, patient, and prepared to be hands-on with the preschoolers. 2-4 Times Per Month on Sundays during first or second service
Elementary Storyteller
K-5th Grade

Elementary Small Group Leaders K-5th Grade Grade level small groups are the hands on, get-to-know-you, real life ministry part of Hope for Kids. Leaders sit with, play with, pray with, encourage, instruct, and interact with the children in their grade. They are the person kids look forward to seeing on Sunday morning! Small Group leaders are relational folks who care about kids and create relationships with the kids. 2-4 Times Per Month on Sundays during first or second service
Set up/Tear Down This is a behind the scenes group that is responsible for setting up and tearing down rooms and areas in preparation for weekly ministry functions and other special events! Ability to arrive a little early or stay a little late on Sundays or as needed! Weekly; Flexible.
Welcome & Registration When a family is visiting COH for the first time, their experience starts at New Family Check-In! We need friendly and cheerful people that welcome each family member warmly, escorting them to the correct rooms, collect necessary information, and create a first impression that lets parents know they can trust us with their precious children. Friendliness, not afraid to talk to strangers, welcoming demeanor! Flexible, 1-2 times a month during first or second service.
Leading Edge Chapel Assistant We have the opportunity to lead chapels every Friday at Leading Edge Academy—with some kids learning about Jesus for the first time ever!  The chapel assistant provides support through games, songs, lessons, etc. A willing heart to demonstrate Jesus’ love out in our community! 2-4 times a month  on Friday mornings
Student Leaders for Sunday morning.
6-8th Grade
9-12th Grade
Lead either middle school or high school classes on Sunday morning during our adult experience. We provide the curriculum, you provide the direction! Bible knowledge required. Ability to work with teens and pre-teens. High energy, able to prepare and follow a set curriculum, and keep students on track for an hour. Availability to meet with staff and other leaders as well as weekly email availability. Ongoing / Weekly Sunday 9:45-11:00am 1-2 times per month
Student helpers Sunday morning. 6-12th Grade Assist a leader with high school or middle school students on Sunday morning. Learn the ropes of leading students. Love students, have some energy, laugh at and with kids. Help the leader control the room. Ongoing / Weekly Sunday 9:45 -11:00 1-2 times per month
Small Group Leaders for Middle and High School
6-12th Grade
Lead a weekly, or every other week small group. These groups are by age middle or high school, and also by gender. Men lead the boys, woman lead the girls. Bible knowledge required. Ability to work with teens and pre-teens. Availability one evening during the week to meet, and some time during the week to prepare. You provide the space. Your home or other place is required. Groups of 4-students. Ongoing / Weekly 2-4 times per month.
Fund Raising Lead Direct students and children in fundraising opportunities for camps and trips. Organization and planning skills helpful. Prior experience in fund raising helpful Ongoing throughout the year
HOSPITALITY  TEAM
Cookie Baking & Delivery Make cookies (pre-made dough) for new families that visit Community of Hope and deliver to the new families. Friendly and welcoming demeanor; knowledge and passion for COH. Ability to make cookies (about 30 -60 mins); reliable transportation. Ongoing/weekly basis. Typically 1-3 families a week.
Sunday Morning Coffee Table Set up and tear down the coffee and food. Sell food items before the service begins. Friendly, able to make coffee and set up baked goods. Arrive 45 minutes prior to the service begins, and stay 15 minutes after. Ongoing / Weekly basis. 1-2 Sunday’s per month.
Greeter / Usher Greet people as they arrive on Sunday mornings. Hand out worship folders, answer questions about children and student areas, and get people seated. Also pass out the morning offering baskets during the service Able to smile and carry a conversation with people you know and don’t know. Lean the basics of where our children and students meet, and have a keen eye for people that look lost or confused
Occasional training is mandatory.

Meals Ministry Make a meal and deliver it to people within our church that are in need of help. Skills in the kitchen, and the ability to transport the food to a family in Maricopa. Ongoing throughout the year.
 
Tech Team
Lights/Sound/Video Set up, rehearse, and run our lights, sound, and video on Sunday morning. Experience is a must in any of these areas. Ability to work with sound equipment, mixing boards, computer programs, digital media, and light boards. Training will be required. Availability and consistency is required. Ongoing / Weekly as needed. Sunday morning’s 7:00am – end of last service.
Production Designer Work on graphic projects for various events and projects across the church. Will work out ahead of a team to scope art, direction, and concepts. Including holiday design, current message series, and other specials. Real world experience and a solid understanding of the trade. Work with digital, and print copy. Website design experience helpful. Frequent and consistent communication via email. Ongoing / As needed.
Décor and Design Work with worship arts to create the décor and stage for the Sunday experience. Some set up and take down are required each week, depending on the nature of the décor. A keen eye for detail. Decorating experience, and the ability to work with the worship team on a weekly basis as needed. May need to arrive early and stay late for set up and/or tear down. Ongoing / Weekly as needed
